Rialto Cafe (Denver Colorado)

Most people don’t go to a restaurant to eat on Thanksgiving morning before heading over to the family’s house for a big full out turkey feast. Well, I’m not most people. A holiday brunch with Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s sounded like just the right way to start a traditional day of gluttony…so off my wife and I headed to The Rialto Cafe in downtown Denver.

We had never been there before so we weren’t sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised was the phrase for the day. The atmosphere was great, the service was great, the food was great…There is really nothing better than steak, eggs and a champagne buzz all before noon.

We were fortunate to be seated at a window table, and since The Rialto Cafe is located right on the 16th Street Mall it allowed for a cool view for people watching. The interior was much different than I expected…again, pleasantly surprised. I know that it’s an overly used cliché, but it has a very New York feel to it. There are two levels, a kind of a 40’s feel with a large mahogany bar. If you’re looking for a casual yet classy place that won’t break the bank I would highly recommend The Rialto Café. I’m looking forward to a return visit when I don’t have to save room for a big family dinner.
